Who we are

What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal data when you apply as a founding member, create an account, or use Monkey Riot — including if you connect Gmail.

What we collect

• Account details you give us (name, email, organisation, portfolio information you enter).
• Founding-member application answers, if you apply.
• Property, rent, invoice and related records you store in the app.
• If you connect Gmail: your Gmail address, OAuth tokens, and the emails and attachments we import as rent statements or invoices.
• Technical logs needed to run and secure the service (for example sign-in and error logs).

Gmail access

Connecting Gmail is optional. If you connect it, we request read-only Gmail access so we can find rent statements and contractor invoices in the inbox you choose and import them into your Monkey Riot account. We do not send email as you. We do not use your Gmail data for advertising. You can disconnect Gmail in Settings → Integrations at any time; that stops further reads.

Gmail tokens are stored encrypted and scoped to your organisation. We do not sell Gmail data. Google’s use of information received from Google APIs is also subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

How we use data

• To provide the Monkey Riot product (portfolio intelligence, imports, billing, support).
• To review founding-member applications.
• To keep the service secure and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your data.

Processors

We use trusted providers to run the service, including hosting, email delivery, payments (Stripe), document analysis, and Google (Gmail API) if you connect an inbox. They only process what is needed to provide that function.

Where data is stored

Application data is hosted in the EU (databases in Frankfurt; files in EU storage) where practicable.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You can ask for access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data. Email hello@monkey-riot.com. You may also complain to the ICO.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do.
